Bevel

Western Red Cedar bevel is a very popular cladding type. This is partly due to the fact that its costs approximately 40% less per square metre than other clear cedar cladding profiles. This saving is a result of the way Bevel is produced: boards are re-sawn at an angle to produce two pieces thicker on one edge than on the other.

Western Red Cedar bevel cladding is installed horizontally and gives an attractive shadow line effect. It is often seen on 'Colonial' style American homes, although it works well on any style of building.

Bevel cladding is reversible; being smooth on one side and fine saw textured on the other side. This gives you the option of two slightly different finished looks. The smooth face has a clean appearance with a subtle shadow line and the fine saw textured surface gives it a slightly more 'casual' or rustic appearance that blends in well with other natural materials such as stone and cedar shingles or shakes.
